What we assemble
Brands, items and exclusionsDo you assemble all flat pack brands?
Yes — we assemble flat pack furniture from IKEA, Argos, Wayfair, Amazon, John Lewis, Dunelm, B&Q, Habitat and most other UK retailers. If it comes in a box with instructions, we can build it.
Common items include wardrobes (PAX, Pax/Brimnes/Oxberg), beds (Malm, Hemnes), bookcases (BILLY, KALLAX), desks (BEKANT, Alex), dressers, drawers, TV units, sideboards, dining tables, garden furniture and sheds.
Do you assemble all IKEA items?
Almost all of them. We routinely assemble the entire IKEA PAX wardrobe system including frames, sliding doors (Auli / Hokksund / Pax), hinged doors, KOMPLEMENT internals and lighting kits.
We're also comfortable with Malm, Brimnes, Hemnes, Bestå, BEKANT, Sektion (kitchen carcasses) and the KALLAX / BILLY ranges.
Can you assemble garden furniture & sheds?
Yes — we build flat-pack garden furniture from Keter, Forest, Rowlinson and similar brands. We also assemble timber-framed sheds (e.g. BillyOh, Forest Garden), playhouses and log cabins.
Note: shed bases (concrete, slabs, timber frames) need to be in place before we arrive. We do not supply groundworks.
Do you do kitchen assembly?
We assemble IKEA METOD / Sektion kitchen carcasses, including drawer runners, hinge mountings, shelves and panels. We don't do plumbing, electrical, worktop cutting or appliance connection — your kitchen fitter or contractor will handle those.
What won't you assemble?
For safety and insurance reasons we won't take on:
- Structural modifications (load-bearing walls, joists)
- Gas, electric or plumbing work
- Ceiling-mounted items (e.g. ceiling fans) requiring a qualified electrician
- Items without instructions or with missing parts
- Items supplied with recalls / known safety notices
What is an "item"?
An item is one self-contained piece of furniture as listed on your invoice — for example:
- 1 item: one BILLY bookcase, one Malm 3-drawer chest, one Pax wardrobe frame
- Pax wardrobe: frame + doors + KOMPLEMENT internals = usually 1 quote-line item depending on quantity
- Bed: frame + headboard + mattress = 1 line item
If you're unsure, just send us the list — we'll count it for you in the quote.
Self-assembly aid
Budget-friendly help you driveWhat is "Budget Friendly Self-Assembly Aid"?
If you want to save money and just need an extra pair of experienced hands, our Self-Assembly Aid service pairs you with one of our installers who works alongside you or your partner to help you build the item.
It's typically charged at a lower hourly rate than full assembly and is great for:
- IKEA PAX & Malm (long flat builds)
- Items you want built but want to keep the cost down
- Customers who want to learn how to disassemble / move some items later
What's included, and what do I provide?
We provide: tools (drills, hex sets, levels, mallets), expertise, sequencing and a pace that keeps you moving.
You provide: the room cleared, the boxes in the room, and someone on site to ensure access decisions (placement, wall anchoring points) are solved as we go.
If at any point you want us to take over and finish, just say so — we'll switch into full assembly mode and re-quote.
Is the price the same as full assembly?
No — self-assembly aid is significantly cheaper. Ask for a quote and we'll price it as a discounted build-pair rate versus our full-assembly fixed price.
Documentation aid
You build, we watch and adviseWhat is Documentation Aid?
Documentation Aid is an hourly service where one of our installers sits with you (in person or on a video call) and walks you through a complex build step by step.
We take photos / notes and produce a personal, step-by-step guide tailored to your specific item, so you can refer back to it if you need to redo, repair or move the item later.
What items is this useful for?
Particularly useful for complex IKEA items that the company itself actively removes manuals from online searches (e.g. some disassembled / model-specific builds), or for items you'll later need to:
- Move houses with (so you know how to take apart without breaking it)
- Reconfigure (e.g. adding internal KOMPLEMENT drawers to an existing Pax)
Do you send me a written guide?
Yes — at the end of the session we send a clean PDF with photos and step notes referencing your item's article numbers, parts and screws. You can refer to it for as long as you own the furniture.
Pricing & booking
Quotes, deposits, paymentHow do you quote? Do I need an exact item list?
Send us your list — ideally with IKEA links, article numbers or a photo of the box labels. The more specific you can be, the more accurate the fixed-price quote.
If you only have a rough idea, we can give a ballpark for budgeting. We confirm a fixed price once we see the actual boxes / items on arrival.
Do you charge by item?
Yes — by item, priced on complexity. A simple bedside table takes about 20 minutes; a full PAX wardrobe system with sliding doors can take 4–6 hours.
Send us the list and we'll send back a per-line itemized quote with a fixed total. No hourly surprises.
Do I need to pay a deposit?
Yes — a 30% deposit secures your booking date and time slot. It's refundable up to 48 hours before the appointment.
The balance is due on the day, by bank transfer once the build is complete.
What payment methods do you accept?
Bank transfer only — no cash, no card readers on site.
This keeps our pricing tight (no card-processing fees passed on to you), gives both sides an auditable trail and is what our insurers / accountants require.
If you need an invoice, we'll email a PDF receipt automatically once payment clears.
How quickly can I book an appointment?
Most UK postcodes can be booked within 3–7 working days. London and the South East are usually faster; more remote regions may take a week or so.
If you have a tight delivery / move-in window, mention it in your enquiry and we'll flag any same-week availability.
Are there travel or call-out fees?
Travel is included in the fixed quote for anywhere in our active service area. For very remote locations (Scottish Highlands, islands, far Cornwall) we may confirm a small travel surcharge before booking.
Assembly day
Prep, access, schedulingDo I need to clear the room?
Yes — please clear the area where the new furniture will go. Roughly 2× the assembled footprint of floor space is ideal, so we can spread the panels and parts.
We move the boxes from the delivery point into the room, but we do not move pre-existing furniture, beds or wardrobes out of the way.
When should I schedule my assembly relative to delivery?
Book the assembly for the day after delivery when possible. That gives the courier time to sort any missed parcels and lets you inventory the boxes.
If everything arrived intact, you can usually book for the same day if a slot is open — just let us know in the form message.
What ceiling height is needed for tall wardrobes (like IKEA PAX)?
The standard IKEA PAX is 201cm or 236cm tall. Add 5–10cm of clearance above to allow for safe tilting and assembly. So:
- 201cm PAX → needs ~210cm ceiling
- 236cm PAX → needs ~245cm ceiling
PAX wardrobes can also be disassembled flat — we can shorten the side panels if your ceiling is tight; mention it in the form.
Do I need to provide parking or property access info?
Helpful but not required for most postcodes. If your property has:
- Permit-only parking, concierge / security gates, or restricted access hours — let us know in advance
- No lift to upper floors — we'll allow extra carrying time
- Stairs-only flats (no lift) — please mention floor count in the form
Do I need to be home the whole time?
Not necessarily — many customers leave a key with a neighbour, the concierge or in a keysafe. We just need someone reachable by phone during the appointment in case of any query.
Wall mounting
Safety, anchors, wall typesCan you secure items to the wall?
Yes — wall anchoring is included at no extra charge for any wardrobe, tall unit, bookcase or changing table. We identify your wall type (stud, plasterboard, dot & dab, solid brick or concrete) and use the correct fixings.
What fixings do you use?
We carry a full range:
- Stud walls: timber stud-finding + wood screws into the stud
- Plasterboard: toggle bolts or snap-toggle anchors where no stud is available
- Solid brick / concrete: masonry plugs + screws, drilled with SDS
- Dot & dab: cut-through fixings into the substrate behind the plasterboard
We won't anchor items into hollow plasterboard with plastic wall plugs alone.
I don't know what kind of wall I have — what should I do?
Nothing — we'll identify it on arrival. UK homes built pre-1950s are typically solid brick / lath & plaster; mid-century to 1990s are usually stud + plasterboard; post-2000 homes can be dot & dab (plasterboard on a solid backing).
If you'd like to test in advance, see our interactive wall-identifying guide.
Can you mount a TV or shelves?
Wall-mounted shelves and TV brackets can be added to a furniture-assembly job, but we don't offer a stand-alone TV-mount-only service. If your booking includes furniture assembly, we'll happily mount a TV or a small shelf as a bolt-on (priced per item).
After the job
Packaging, inspection, follow-upWhat happens once the assembly is complete?
Before we leave we walk through every item with you, room by room:
- Confirm level, alignment and stability
- Verify doors / drawers open and close cleanly
- Check all wall anchors are seated
- Take photos for our records and your warranty
If anything's off, we fix it on the spot — we're not done until you're happy.
Do you take the packaging away?
Yes — we flatten, tie and take all cardboard and polystyrene with us for recycling, free of charge. Just tell us on arrival if you'd prefer to keep the boxes.
What happens if something breaks or goes wrong after you leave?
We carry public liability insurance and our work is covered by a 12-month workmanship guarantee. If a door comes off its hinges or a runner comes loose within a year, we'll come back and fix it free of charge.
Manufacturer defects on the furniture itself are between you and the retailer — but we'll happily help you file or evidence the claim with photos we took on site.
Policies
Reschedule, cancel, paymentsWhat is your cancellation & rescheduling policy?
48 hours or more before: free reschedule or full refund of deposit.
Within 48 hours: we keep the deposit to cover travel planning and the missed slot. If we can re-fill the slot we'll refund it.
No-show: deposit is forfeited.
Just call or message — we'll always try to be flexible for illness, weather, delivery delays etc.
What if my delivery is delayed on the day?
Please let us know as soon as possible. If the furniture hasn't arrived the day before, we can usually reschedule to the same week with no extra charge — depends on availability.
What if parts are missing or damaged?
We identify every part needed and pause the build if anything is missing. You contact the retailer for replacements; once they arrive we come back at no extra cost to finish.
If a part is damaged (e.g. cracked panel) we photograph it and pass that to the retailer with your claim.
Do you have insurance?
Yes — every installer carries public liability insurance (£2m minimum). Your home and belongings are covered against accidental damage during the appointment. A copy of our certificate is available on request.
How do I leave a review?
Right after the job we'll send a single-click review link by email. It goes to our Trustpilot page and helps other customers find us. We read every review and act on feedback.
You can also leave a Google review any time via the link in our footer.
